Why ExPAS was set up:
We put this website and service together following a conversation with several friends about our friend Norman.
Norman spoke to ExPAS quite late in his progression into understanding his current Pension(s).
Had he spoke to us sooner, he could have saved £5000 and a lot of time and stress.
Norman thought he had four pensions, one company pension and three private.
He was recommended a Pensions expert back in the UK and began to unfold his complicated situation.
It turned out he was not in the company pension he thought he was (it folded March 2005). Two of his other pension companies had merged. So it turned out he had two pensions.
To get this far, pension tracing services were invoked and it took a couple of months to gather all the information.
He was quoted £5,000 for this service in the UK. Once the benefits had been determined, it turned out his wife would get half of one pension when he died and nothing from another, if he lived over 70. Shocking.
Norman luckily contacted ExPAS at this point:
After speaking with the team at ExPAS we helped Norman realise his Pension choices more clearly and he was then able to take advantage of options now available to him. So when he dies his wife will inherit the whole of his pension fund which is a £60,000 lump sum. He now feels more peaceful knowing his situation more clearly and making the most of his options.
We want to help all our friends to feel the peace that Norman now has, so we do all the work to gather all the information before you need to engage with an IFA.
